Computer Procurement and Replacement: The Micro Fund

Most computer purchases for Macalester faculty and staff are budgeted through the Microcomputer Fund, to ensure technical consistency and fair allocation. It is expected that most College-owned computers will be initially purchased, and later replaced, through this Fund. The Fund process also purchases computers for public and some departmental lab facilities and recycles computing equipment for re-use to meet campus needs. ITS orders new computers, refurbishes and recycles older computers, and then delivers and sets up these devices on campus.
