You may also choose to add additional hardware components to your
computer, such as scanners or external hard drives. ITS will attempt to
provide basic installation support for these devices. That is, we'll
help you get them working initially, but we will not be able to provide
additional assistance. These devices include:
- USB Flash drives (a.k.a. 'thumb' drives)
- External hard drives
- Scanners
- Digital cameras
- External CD and DVD burners
Certain devices, such as Palm Pilots or handheld computers, allow you
to access your calendar, email and other data directly from them. These
devices usually require some additional setup and configuration. ITS
will assist you with the installation of these devices and help you to
set them up to synchronize relevant information. Please be aware that
certain devices may prove incompatible with our current systems, and
other features of the devices may be unsupported.
If you think you need any of these devices, or others, please consult
with an AIA or other ITS staff member before purchasing them.
