Senior Class Gift

Macalester’s annual senior Class Gift Campaign is led by a committee of students supported by staff in Macalester’s annual Fund office. The campaign is a longstanding tradition and encourages all seniors to give a gift to Macalester in celebration of graduation and in thanks for an invaluable education. In 2008 they provided money for the sustainability efforts on campus.

Caps and Gowns and Graduation Announcements

95% of graduating seniors choose to order a cap and gown for commencement. It’s easy, not too expensive, and if you take care of it ON TIME, it will keep parents, etc from having a fit! Measurements for caps and gowns will take place in March 2009. Graduating seniors will receive information on this and on the availability of graduation announcements at a later date.

Rehearsal and Class Photo

A photo of the entire graduating class will be taken at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14. this will be followed by a mandatory commencement rehearsal. At the rehearsal the students will determine the seating order for commencement.

Senior Information Fair

“One-stop shopping” for the Class of 2009. Several Macalester departments will be in attendance to share information that Seniors will need to know as graduation approaches and they plan for their life “after Macalester.” The Fair, sponsored by the Career Development Center will occur in April.

Senior Week Activities

Senior Week ’09 will take place May 12-16, 2009. This culminating week for the Class of ’09 is planned by and for Macalester students as a time to reflect on past experiences and celebrate current and future accomplishments. Please contact Laura Klunder, Senior Week adviser at lklunder@macalester.edu, if you have question or are interested in helping to plan your week.
