Student Employee of the Year Competion

Each year Macalester participates in the National Student Employee of the Year competition, where supervisors nominate a student workers for the Student Employee of the Year award. We all know how much we depend on and value our student employees; this is a great opportunity to show them that we appreciate and notice their good work.
 
Each office or department can nominate one student worker for the award. Qualities that make a good student employee are those that should prompt you to nominate them: reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism and uniqueness of contribution.

The campus winner is announced during the National Student Employee campus celebration in April. This is a national competition, and our campus winner will be entered in the state competition where the winner receives a $75 cash prize. The State winner is then sent on to compete in the regional competition (where the winner receives a $150 cash prize) and that winner automatically competes at the national level for National Student Employee of the Year (another cash prize to that winner).
