Student Employee of the Year Competition 2008
Macalester is participating in the National Student Employee of the Year competition, and supervisors are encouraged to nominate a student worker for the Student Employee of the Year award. We all know how much we depend on and value our student employees; this is a great opportunity to show them that we appreciate and notice their good work.
Each office or department can nominate one student worker for the award. Qualities that make a good student employee are those that should prompt you to nominate them: reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism and uniqueness of contribution. Guidelines and nomination forms are available on SEAC’s home page: http://www.macalester.edu/committees/seac. The deadline for submitting nominations is 4:30 PM on Friday, February 8.
The campus winner will be announced during the National Student Employee campus celebration in April. Since this is a national competition, our campus winner will be entered in the state competition where the winner receives a $75 cash prize. The State winner is then sent on to compete in the regional competition (where the winner receives a $150 cash prize) and that winner automatically competes at the national level for National Student Employee of the Year (another cash prize to that winner).
Is YOUR student employee Macalester’s Student Employee of the Year? You won’t know until you nominate them! Nominations are due 4:30 PM - Friday, February 8, 2008.
