1. Minutes were approved from the last meeting.

2. The Site Restructuring Group (Nancy Peterson, Kerry Sarnoski, Sarah Withee, and Terri Fishel) met and developed categories for the home page contents. Kerry presented the headings which are not listed in order of appearance, but are:

What's Happening at Macalester (press releases, events calendar, MacWeekly, etc.)

About Macalester (virtual tour, TC info, Quick facts, map, directions, history)

Directory (Depts., student organizations, people, pages, etc.)

What's New on Macalester's Web Site

Campus and Student Services (Registrar, library, publications, etc.)

After some review and discussion it was decided to add "parents" and change "information resources" to "information services." The design of the page is yet to be done. There will be a changing "current news" item on the main page as well as the list of topics. The group approved the topic areas as presented.

3. Design of page

There was discussion about Kim's experience with layout of Web pages and Sarah cautioned us to remember there are elements to remember in designing the page and how it will display on pc monitors versus Mac monitors. Kerry and Sarah will meet with Kim to discuss the design of the page.

Sarah, Joel, and Kerry will meet to develop a workplan regarding the overall Web site remodeling project.

4. Webshare

We have purchased the software and a Windows NT Server to run the program will be ordered by the end of the month.

Terri mentioned the need to figure out how much student time we will need for the site revision as budget requests are being prepared now.
