Forms of Resistance:

Graffiti can be seen all over the streets of Cochabamba. Most of the graffiti has political or strong messages directed to society in general. Graffiti is a 'young peoples' form of revolt. There are many groups in the city that leave their messages on the streets at night, some anonymous and some with cryptic signatures. Many are university students who want to express their views and desires for change find only this way to get the messages across. Often times the messages are anarchist, and anti-imperalist.

 We are beautiful,

We are smart,

We are feminists

Mujeres Creando

Mujeres Creando (Women creating) is a group of radical feminists based in La Paz. Theirs is a war of words, using publications and graffiti as their weapons and aiming them, through political statements at the hearts and minds of the population. They travel to different parts of the country and sell their newsletter during the day and paint radical slogans at night. Their sign is the woman's sign with an anarquist A in the circle, as shown on the photograph.
