Philosopher Reports

I'll be looking for a brief (3-5) minute account of the man and the nature of his work. For what topics of research, methods, ideas and/or discoveries was he known? When and where did he work? What did he write, if anything? Does any of his work survive? If not, how do we know about it? Draw out what you think would be useful for other students to know about this philosopher in the context of the course.
