Visual Narrative
Elements to consider when interpreting visual narrative:
- Physical Context - On what type of object is the image found? What
is the function of the object? How does that relate to the image?
- Space - How is image arranged visually? What is interaction between
images on different parts of object?
- Style - Are elements part of scene or part of style/genre/decoration?
- Visual Language- Does the image include gestures, objects or other
details which carry particular meanings? Is there a visual code or shorthand
at work?
- Narrative Object - Story or stories selected
- Time/Moment within story
- Historical Context
