Who are we?
We are students taking courses with Professor Wang Ping at Macalester College. From first-years to seniors writing everything from poetry to personal essays, this site showcases our best work of the semester.
Professor Ping runs classes in a "workshop" format where students bring work, read it aloud, and then the class discusses how the student
could improve on the work. A work typically follows a creation arc of rough draft, revised draft, and then finishes with polished.
Students also complete a culminating final project and present it to the class.
Who created the site?
Andrew Mirzayi, the humble website master, would like to mention himself at this point.
Andrew is an English/Geography double major and works for Professor Ping. He took Ping's first year course: Introduction to Creative Writing:
Environmental Writing. He also founded a literary magazine, Thistle, with members of the class.
He'd also like to apologize for the pictures on the class pages.
