Adrian Croke
I’m Adrian
you can ask me and I’ll tell you where I was bo®n,
skipping yellow-booted through rain drops,
raspberries red in my teeeth,
toes smacking sand and coraled concrete,
yes, I dance through streets
you can hear my bangles too
tangled and dangling upside
down in cherry trees
just try to eat me, no hands just teeth darling
My heart longs for the sea
A siren’s melody, she calls
twirling salty fingers
deep inside me, waves lapping slapping pink
your winks don’t turn this head
try again
this time I’ll be catching fish on the sidewalk
you can follow the forget-me-knots
I dropped a trail, petals matted in golden hair
just watch out, sometimes feet slip
and we wouldn’t want you in a fix
down a gutter like my mother’s pearly bar of soap.
Croke.
