Jake Sinderbrand
Jake Sinderbrand was born in 1912 into a family notorious for its connections with the mob. At a young age, Jake was exposed to violence, politics, and alcohol, and by the age of 16, Jake was in prison. It was here that Jake earned the nickname, “Rabbi J. Thug” and penned his first narrative, The Art of Assassination: True Accounts of Murder. His work was largely criticized for its graphic nature, while at the same time earning top honors for its realistic portrayal of daily Jewish-American life.
