Koko Lee
Kokoro Lee is both a marine biologist and a botanist. Born and raised in rural Nebraska to happily married florists, Kokoro grew up learning about the various plants and flowers populating her childhood. At age fourteen she visited the Pacific Ocean and in an unfortunate boating accident almost drowned. However, Lee herself describes the experience as “love at first sight.” Though a lover of both plants and the sea, it is her passion for writing which is the motivating force in her life. Her published work to date includes an eco-friendly plant-care guide, a two volume work on exploring the Pacific Coast, a highly praised scholarly essay on zooplankton, and her autobiography The Ocean Doesn’t Want Me. She is currently working on her first book of poetry for publication.
