Venezia

"Venice...is my head, or rather my heart-quarters."
Lord Byron, Letter to Thomas Moore, 11 Apr 1817

Venice, Italy is beautiful, captivating, and breathtaking. Venice is also a crowded and polluted city management nightmare. Through indepth exploration, the small city can be dissected to reveal grand hopes built on a rotting foundation.  The salvation of Venice is a delicate issue and the world’s ferocious love for the city sparks controversy. La Serinissima Republica (The Most Serene Republic) is struggling to accommodate the lure of its attractions with the expectations of its loyal citizens. Today in the world urban system, Venice is essentially a pity case. Many urban powers desire a voice in the future plans of Venice, hoping to save the city before it is destroyed by nature or by man.
