Major Urban Issues

Belfast is currently dealing with several important issues as a city and as a population. Social factors including instability of the Peace Process and the effects of the Troubles have reflected and created urban patterns of housing, segregation, and the construction of peacelines, greatly affecting the city's human geography. The city and urban area's planning is adapting to these human factors while taking tentative steps toward creating a livable Belfast for the entire population and the outside world.
