| Belfast's zone in transition is located in the northwest sector where extensive upper class movement into the suburbs is creating the familiar housing succession of lower classes moving into dwellings the upper leave behind, creating a pattern of physically decayed property from the center outward. In this zone, the in-migrants are mainly Catholic, and considered by Jones (1960) to fill the role of immigrants in the city's social structure. |
