Information available about Prague's popular culture is largely geared towards tourists, as they provide an enormous amount of income and advertisement of Prague's interesting and alive scene is what draws people in. Even though beer is what one might immediately associate with Prague, the scene also includes cinema, theater, fine dining, shopping and sports. Since the fall of Communism, these activities are increasingly similar to what one might find in Western European cities or in the United States. There is some concern over the loss of traditional culture to these globalizing forces. Traditionally, Prague has been known for its fine literary tradition, beginning in the "Golden Age."
