Prague's first indoor shopping mall was completed in 1994, bringing more Western shops into Prague and broadening its profile as a cosmopolitan city similar to western European cities. Prague has one outdoor market that remains in Old Town and sells produce and other types of food as well as clothes and tourist items. Depending on where he or she lives, a resident may shop in smaller shops within the city center or may shop in larger stores or malls outside the city center.
