The information presented in this section is taken from the drafts copyrighted by the Greater Montego Bay Redevelopment Company in accordance with the Planning and Design Quorum Inc.

 Montego Bay is no longer a sleeping fishing village, it is being remodeled through citizen mobilization and and structured, participatory planning to become a world standard, 21st century business and tourism centre.

The Plan is aimed at creating the framework for investment and balanced growth withe focus on human resource development, business enhancement and improved city management for the Montego Bay sub-region.

The Plan highlights further the need for sustainability strategies, ie. planning for broad-based partnerships and human self-sufficiency programmes as a way of bringing idle assets back into productive use.

 Goal and Objectives

The goal of the GMBA 2014 Plan, is to introduce new social relations and new forms of collaboration that would consciously and collectively improve the quality of life in the Greater Montego Bay Area (GMBA).
