Project Introduction
This project was originally an overly ambitious attempt to explain the entire range of urbanization history and issues in Sydney, Australia. The final project has been a far more modest effort. Since there is little in the way of city planning and urbanization of Sydney on the World Wide Web, and since the author is in the United States and not Sydney, it has been difficult to explore the big picture. Instead, I have produced a brief general history and accounting of the present patterns of transportation, industry, immigrant populations, residential trends, and a brief look at the newest developments in the CBD. Any one of these areas could be greatly expanded, and there are other issues which have been omitted completely. Please view this merely as a starting point for understanding the urbanization of Sydney, Australia.
