The City of Toronto flag
Approved by City Council on November 23, 1999,
the official flag of Toronto, beat out seven
other designs, and was the design used
by the former City of Toronto.

The flag was designed by Rene DeSantis in 1974, depicting
the twin towers of City Hall on a blue background with the
red Maple Leaf of the Flag of Canada, which represents the
Council Chamber at the base of the towers.
