The student workbook, Quia: Work must to be completed on a daily basis, prior to class, in preparation for class. Please note that the Course Calendar will indicate the sections for which one is responsible. The Quia assignments are "time sensitive" and can be completed only by a certain date. After that date they will not be recorded, and a grade of "0" will be entered. Please plan ahead; only in extreme cases will the date be extended. There is also an "Identidades" website. These assignments, which are essentially "practice quizzes," will not appear on the course calendar and their completion is entirely voluntary, although highly recommended. These on-line quizzes test most functions and grammatical principles covered in the chapters and serve as useful measures of one's mastery of Spanish prior to more formal examinations. The Quia workbook and Identidades quizzes are as much learning activities as assessment instruments. Therefore, students should take and re-take the review exercises and quizzes until they acheive the score they wish or they are limited by the number of attempts allowed. Once the score of any workbook exercise is submitted no re-takes will be accepted.
