Destination 2010 is a student achievement and
scholarship program for selected students in the Minneapolis and St.
Paul Public Schools. Thanks to a generous grant from The B.C. Gamble
and P.W. Skogmo Fund of The Minneapolis Foundation, Destination 2010
Scholars, current Minnesota private college students who serve as
tutor/mentors, will encourage the students targeted by Destination 2010
to aspire to a college education.
Destination 2010 Tutor/Mentor Scholarships are awarded
to students studying at one of the eight private colleges and
universities in the Twin Cities. There is a preference for students who
graduated from a Minneapolis or St. Paul public school. Destination
2010 Scholars must spend a minimum number of hours serving as
tutor/mentors in Destination 2010 classrooms during the academic year.
Scholars are encouraged to participate in the program for more than one
year. The Destination 2010 Scholars encourage inner-city youth to start
thinking about postsecondary education at an early age.
