How to Become Involved

Incorporate community-based learning into your academic work. Each year, civic engagement is incorporated into the curriculum in a wide variety of disciplines, ranging from introductory to advanced courses and also through research and honors programs.

Participate with others in one the Civic Engagement Center leadership programs to develop and practice the skills of global citizenship.

Pursue individual or group service experiences consistent with your interests or coursework.

Break out of the Macalester bubble - familiarize yourself with community assets and the amazing Twin Cities!

Seek out one of the programs offered through the Lilly Project for Vocation and Ethical Leadership (co-sponsored with the Center for Religious and Spiritual Life).

Participate in "Opportunities Abound," our college access program which encourages college awareness and preparation for k-12 students who will be first generation college students.

Apply for an "Action Fund" or "Venture Fund" grant to support your great idea to create change and educate your peers.

MOST OF ALL, JUST GET INVOLVED!
