I work as a teacher with a non-profit science enrichment program called 4-H CAPITAL. We bring the ideals and enthusiasm of the traditional rural 4-H program to inner city schools in Austin, Texas. I teach environmental and animal science to 3rd-5th grades in an after-school setting. My campus, Allison Elementary, even has a small herd of goats living in a pen on school grounds. My best fifth graders have been working with these goats all semester to get them ready to show at the Travis County Livestock show in January. We emphasize hands-on learning and encourage intellectual curiosity, especially in the natural sciences. Every day is an adventure!

I'm In-residency at the North Cascades Institute, working toward a master's of education in Environmental Education and Nonprofit Administration. As part of my program requirements, I teach fifth grade classes about the natural and cultural history of their homes in the Pacific Northwest. Soon I'll be working on mentoring high school students and working with adult workshops in North Cascades National Park.

I work at UNESCO--the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization--on HIV and AIDS Education. While I am based at the UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, France, the work is global, with particular emphasis on Sub-Saharan Africa. My work thus far includes working on supporting HIV-positive teachers, school centred-care and support, treatment education and HIV & AIDS workplace policies for the education sector.

I am currently a Peace Corps Volunteer living in Tela, Honduras, which is a great little town on the caribbean coast. I work in HIV prevention and education and with support groups for people who have HIV/AIDS.

I'm about to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a masters in public policy. After that, I'm hoping to find a job that feeds my soul and allows me to make some progressive change in the world.

I am working as a rural family doctor in Scottsdale, Tasmania, Australia. My husband and I had always wanted to spend some time with our kids in a developing country. It is gorgeous, and much like going back a few decades into the rural Ohio community of my childhood. After feeling constrained from being able to do all I was trained to do medically, Tasmania is a breath of fresh air (literally as well as figuratively--the world standard for fresh air is set on Tassie's west coast). I am delivering babies again after a 13 year hiatus to raise my own.

My husband Phil teaches at the local high school, where our youngest is in 7th grade. We came on a one-year contract in 2005. We now have bought a house, inherited 3 Scottish Highland cows, and feel right at home. We truly welcome visitors, and would be happy to hear from old friends.

Here in Albuquerque, I'm focusing on sustainability. A group of us is producing a film documentary to show examples of how individuals, families and schools are learning to grow their own fruits and vegetables. Interestingly, most have taught themselves to garden. It wasn't handed down by the previous generation.
