The Leonard Center opened on August 11. The new atheltic and wellness complex was the first major initiative of the campaign. It represents Macalester's commitment to the vital role health, wellness, athletics and physical activity play in a well-rounded liberal arts education.

A BREATHTAKING FACILITY

The Leonard Center is named in honor of the late George P. Leonard '27, his wife Wilma Fox Leonard '27 and their descendants who have been longtime supporters of Macalester.

Total cost of the building is $45 million

The Leonard Center appeals to competitive athletes and recreational users alike with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, field house, the Riley Pool, and gymnasium. Scotty's juice bar, the student lounge, atrium and meeting rooms serve as focal points for interaction and relaxation.
