STUDENT VIDEO COMPETITION
"We all have the power to make choices. We can choose to be silent and turn away. Or we can Step Forward and take action. Here at Macalester, you have chosen to make a difference." - Kofi Annan '61
Macalester students, an opportunity awaits you to make a choice, to lift your voice and take action. The mission: to create a video that best exemplifies the Macalester experience. The best videos (as judged by Macalester alumni in the film and communications industry) will receive cash prizes of $5,000 or $2,500. The winning movie will be a window into Macalester, revealing our experience in a way that has not been done before.
This contest is a chance for Macalester students to reveal their creative talent to successful people in the movie industry and receive constructive feedback. It is a chance for students to build a picture of the Macalester that they would like to see in 2012. It is also an opportunity to reconnect people to the College and contribute to the success of the Step Forward campaign. Finally, it is a chance to win $5,000. So start planning and filming; the final due date for films is September 15th.
