Success! Thanks to the generosity of 38 donors, who contributed $7,514,805, fund raising is complete on the construction goal. Markim Hall opened May 2009. The building is the second building initiative of the Step Forward campaign to be completed. Support to endow the programs of the IGC remains a priority.

ENDURING TRADITIONS IN A CHANGING WORLD

The enduring values upon which Macalester was founded—internationalism, multiculturalism, and service to community—will be served through the new Institute for Global Citizenship (IGC). The IGC is a groundbreaking campuswide initiative that reaffirms and expands the college’s historic tradition of engagement at the local, national, and international levels, and underscores Macalester’s reputation for academic excellence.
