I am pleased to introduce the vision behind Step Forward, an ambitious campaign in support of Macalester College. The men and women whose stories you will discover in this site vividly illustrate Macalester’s role in shaping individuals of substance, character, and unparalleled leadership. These stories represent but a small cross section of the Macalester alumni, professors, and students who are making creative and substantial contributions in the college’s backyard and around the world.

Step Forward: The Campaign for Macalester is the name of our $150 million campaign designed to invest in the quality of the education we provide to the leaders and problem solvers of tomorrow. Your support of the carefully honed objectives of this campaign—financial aid, academic quality, and facilities dedicated to the arts, global citizenship, and athletics and recreation—will ensure that future generations of students will continue to make their mark on the world in the tradition of the Macalester graduates you will meet herein.
