Dresscode Tartan

The tartan pictured left was given to the college when it was adopted into the Scottish Clan of MacAlister in 1948 in honor of the Scottish heritage of the college's early benefactor, Charles Macalester. Scottish traditions on campus proliferated in the 1940s, many continuing today.

That's why we encourage you to wear the Macalester tartan to celebrate the college's history and future at our celebration in October.
