Appliances and Electronics
Energy efficient appliances and electronics not only reduce energy use but also save you money. ENERGY STAR is a government program that helps consumers find and choose efficient appliances.
Clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, window air conditioners, central air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and pool heaters all carry an EnergyGuide Label. Ranges, ovens, clothes dryers, humidifiers, and dehumidifiers do not carry an EnergyGuide Label. This label provides an estimate for energy use and cost of running an appliance. Look for the ENERGY STAR logo on this label.
Home electronics do not carry the EnergyGuide Label but can be ENRGY STAR certified.
