Short Term Disability Benefit
The Short Term Disability benefit is a offering for benefits eligible (Full Time - .75 FTE or greater) staff employees. This voluntary benefit is intended to act as a bridge during the 90 day exclusion period for Macalester's current Long Term Disability plan. The benefit is provided by Colonial Life.

In the event that the employee becomes disabled due to a non-workplace related injury, this benefit could be used to replace income up to 66 2/3 percent of pre-tax gross income. This benefit can also be used in addition to any available medical or vacation leave accrued.

Supplemental Life Insurance
During open enrollment, benefits eligible Macalester employees may elect to enroll in or change their Supplemental Life Insurance and/or AD&D.
