Short Term Disability BenefitThe Short Term Disability benefit is a offering for benefits eligible (Full Time - .75 FTE or greater) staff employees. This voluntary benefit is intended to act as a bridge during the 90 day exclusion period for Macalester's current Long Term Disability plan. The benefit is provided by Colonial Life. Macalester faculty, please see the Employee Handbook -- Policy 11.10.1 for more information about short term leaves from work. In the event that the employee becomes disabled due to a non-workplace related injury, this benefit could be used to replace income up to 66 2/3 percent of pre-tax gross income. This benefit can also be used in addition to any available medical or vacation leave accrued. Supplemental Life InsuranceDuring open enrollment, benefits eligible Macalester employees may elect to enroll in or change their Supplemental Life Insurance and/or AD&D. To make changes or enroll in the benefit, please click on the following: Prevaling coverage rates and additional information are located on the form. This form should be completed and returned to Employment Services (77 Mac Room 201) prior to the open enrollment deadline. |
