English 406-01: Projects in Writing (Wang)

This advanced writing workshop is designed by the students who have started or have concrete plans to start their own writing projects (poetry, story, personal essays, or mixed genres). The main goal of the workshop is to help the writers to shape their visions and ideas into workable projects through constructive feedbacks and critiques.
The following three books chosen for the workshop will help us understand how a writer, poet and artist started his or her project with a vision and determination, and how they process their raw materials and transform them into art work:
- Seasons of Life and Land: A Photographic Journey by Subhankar Banerjee with essays and poems by Fran mauer, William H. Meadows, Debbi S. Miller, George B. Schaller, David Allen Sibley, The Mountaineers' Books
- Blood and Soap, stories by Linh Dinh, Seven Stories Press
- The California Poem, Eleni sikelianos, Coffee House Press
