Honors Project

Students each year participate in honors projects, developing literary theses, creative manuscripts, novels or works of criticism. The following two students are currently involved, including a brief description of their work:

• Vendela Engblom, who will translate Edith Södergran’s poetry collection Septemberlyran (The September Lyre) into English, thus showing the careful and innovative poetic language that helped her craft a body of work with profound influence on Swedish literary canon.
• Jake Seltzer, who will write a novella about three roommates in their early 20’s. Each chapter in the novella will be written in the voice of a different roommate, reflecting upon their interactions and lending insight into the personal development of each character.
