Campus Environmental Issues Committee (CEIC)
The Campus Environmental Issues Committee and the Presidents Climate Commitment Committee merged to become the new Sustainability Advisory Committee in spring 2008. The mission of the Sustainability Advisory Committee is to oversee the implementation of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment and the Talloires Declaration. The committee will also recommend policies and practices which best reflect College’s commitment to an environmentally sustainable world. In addition, the committee will function as a conduit for information exchange about campus sustainability initiatives.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Campus Environmental Issues Committee is to gather and facilitate coordination of the environmental expertise and advocacy at Macalester College, to provide accurate information regarding the environmental impacts of college decisions, and to recommend College policies and practices which best reflect the commitment to an environmentally sustainable world.
