Macalester Environmental Review is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles on interdisciplinary studies on environmental issues.
Macalester Environmental Review publishes papers on this website in the form of works to be debated. Comments and criticisms from readers can be appended to the original articles and the author(s) will be able to reply. Our aim is to attract articles from a wide variety of disciplines.
Macalester Environmental Review offers the following advantages:
 | Click access to any of its own articles that are cited in a given paper. |
| Access to cited papers from other publishers' journals freely available. |
| Links to corrections or to later articles that cite the paper. |
| Access to more detailed (even raw) data, or to multimedia information (e.g., videos) provided by the author or via links to external databases. |
| Interactivity: Links to reader comments or discussion forums related to the paper ("scholarly skywriting"). |
| A "living article," where the user could log in at any time and see an experiment on an ongoing basis, showing data collected that day. |
| Embedded software programs allowing users to mirror the author's work by manipulating data or running simulations based on their own inputs. |
