Eastern edge of the Macalester Prairie

The eastern section of the Macalester prairie is home to the wind turbine. This section receives full sun exposure, has moderately dry soil, and a well defined edge.

Quack grass, a non-native invasive grass,  is evident in this area, which also has Little Bluestem, Side Oats Grama, Prairie Brome, sedges, and other grasses. In addition, this section is home to Stiff Goldenrod, Prairie Coreopsis, Nodding Onions, Prairie Onions, Blue Vervain, and other flowering plants.
