Northern edge of the Macalester Prairie

The Northern section of the Macalester prairie is next to the Olin-Rice Science building. This very colorful section has moderately dry soil and receives full sun exposure.
This section is dominated by Little Bluestem grasses. Round-headed Bushclover, a species endangered in Minnesota, can be found in this section, along with Prairie Coreopsis, Purple Prairie Clover, Western Sunflowers, and Ohio Spiderworts.
