Facilities Services employs over 70 students during the academic year.

You would be working in one of the following student employment groups: custodial, grounds, heating plant, office, recycling/MacRO, or trades/painting. Every position requires dependability and the ability to follow instructions closely. Most involve some kind of manual labor. Setting up a work schedule will be done as soon as possible after registering for classes and meeting with your supervisor. Students work 8 - 10 hours a week depending upon their student employment grant and in blocks of time not less than two hours each. Attendance and promptness are necessary and expected.

The greatest thing about these jobs and working in Facilities Services is the experience you receive. You not only learn interesting skills, but also acquire the responsibility that comes with holding a job. All student work positions are listed through the Macalester Student Employment office.
