Federal Perkins Loan Promissory Notes
Federal Perkins Loan funds will be credited to your account after you have
signed a promissory note but no earlier than ten days prior to the beginning of the semester.
Federal Perkins Loan Promissory Notes are required from
Perkins Loan borrowers each year. The promissory note details the
terms of the Federal Perkins Loan and includes the borrower's promise
to repay the loan.
The Student Accounts Office
will contact Federal Perkins Loan borrowers about attending a
promissory note information session in the early part of the fall
semester (see schedule below). Promissory notes must be signed in person by the
Federal Perkins Loan borrower (the student). No cosignor is
required. Borrowers must bring their Macalester Student ID Card to the session.
