I
come from Tunisia where I have worked as an Assistant Professor
of American and British literature at the University of Tunis.I
received a B.A. in English and Italian from the University of Tunis-Carthage.
After earning my B.A, I pursued an M.A. and a Ph.D. (2002) from
the University of Minnesota’s English department. My dissertation
on “Representations of Disability in Postcolonial Arab/Muslim
Literature and Culture” illustrates my inter-disciplinary
interests in Disability Studies, Body theory, Postcolonial literature,
Middle Eastern and North African cultures, films and fictions, including
Francophone Maghrebian literature. I am honored to teach as a lab
instructor at the Macalester department of French and Francophone
Studies this year and experience once again the free, open, diverse,
and warm environment of the American university that I came to cherish
after 6 years at the University of Minnesota.
