Diane Brown
Diane Brown, assistant professor, has a PhD from Harvard
University (Romance Languages and Literatures, 2001) with a specialization
in eighteenth-century French literature. She is working on
a book manuscript entitled "Private Lessons: Mentors and the
Anxiety of Education in Eighteenth-Century French Literature."
Her research interests include the intersections of culture and
literature, the material history of books, Enlightenment philosophy,
and literary theory. At Macalester, she teaches language classes
at all levels, Arts and Ideas, and Eighteenth-Century French Literature.
