|
 |
Douglas Richardson is the Executive Director of the Association of American Geographers. Prior to joining the AAG, Dr. Richardson had founded and was the president of GeoResearch, Inc., which created and patented the first real-time interactive GPS/GIS technologies, and pioneered the development of related field mapping and geographic management applications internationally for over a decade. He sold the company and its key patents in 1998.
He has conducted extensive research in the environmental and natural resources fields, and on geographic information science and technology. He also has worked closely with American Indian Tribes on issues of concern to them for many years. His current research interests focus on geography’s evolution as an international discipline and its future trajectories in the university and in society. |
