| Welcome to the Mapping Lake Street project. This was a joint project undertaken in the Fall 2006 Semester with the Minnesota Historical Society and the Macalester College GIS:Concepts and Applications class. During the 2006 Fall Semester the Advanced GIS class partnered with the Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) to map Lake Street. Lake Street is a vibrant and rapidly changing corridor in Minneapolis and home to many generations of immigrant families. With greater investment by the City of Minneapolis and the opening of the Global Marketplace, the area continues its evolution. Our task was to map changes occurring on Lake Street over the past 100 years. This project was part of a larger coordinated effort between MHS and Macalester College as part of their future exhibit “Lake Street Intersections.” To view all the student-made group projects in detail, please select one of the buttons on the left. |
