Section 1:
Population Changes To fill in the chart, follow the directions
below.
1. Go to
http://www.mnplan.state.mn.us/datanetweb/demographics.html and click
on “SF-1 Population/Housing 2000.”
2. On the
next page, under “Population Profiles” click on “Population in 1970,
1980, 1990, 2000” and then click “Report.”
3. On the
next page, click on “Minor Civil Division” and then “Enter Choice.”
4. On the
county list, click on Hennepin County and then “Select County.”
5. For each
of the cities (Minneapolis, Corcoran, and Maple Grove), select the
city and then press “Enter Choice.”
You will see a chart of the population changes.
6. To find
the information for Columbia Heights, Fridley, and Blaine, go back
to the county page (Step 4) and repeat the directions from there
using Anoka County.

2. You will see a map of the Twin Cities. Above the map, click on “Tables.”
3. On the next page, change “Metro Area” to “Minneapolis.”
