and low-cost workshop and institute professional development opportunities. They vary in length from day-long during the school year to week-long in the summer and often have CEUs or free graduate credits available to particpants.

High School Geography Round Table Talks - ongoing

This will be the final year of the High School Round Tables and will all include a preview of the newly created Common Assessments for the HS Human Geography course, as well as Best Practices lessons for each of the seven units.
Middle School Geography Round Table talks – ongoing
Dates: tentatively set for Oct. 10 and Dec. 5, 2009, and Feb. 13 and April 10, 2010
Macalester College, Saint Paul
Middle School teachers are invited to attend sessions and share ideas for teaching both physical and cultural Geography in a world regional course. Swap lessons, websites, strategies and informally learn new Geography concepts. Links to the Minnesota standards will be included.
