Basic Skills for Teaching Geography Workshop

October 29, 2005
This FREE, one-day workshop, offered for pre-service teachers, non-tenured teachers and teachers new to geography instruction* The workshop will be structured around three sessions, comprised of eighteen concurrent sessions, led by six outstanding K-12 master teachers. Professor David Lanegran, Coordinator of the Minnesota Alliance for Geographic Education will also give a presentation. Sessions will involve teaching the five fundamental geography themes, mapping, geography & the internet, interdisciplinary lessons, literacy, diverse populations, Minnesota’s Social Studies Standards, and much, much more. Plan on an intensive and exciting day!
