Karst Landscape and SE Minnesota Treasures
April 30 and May 1, 2005
Do you want to spend an exciting spring weekend with your geography colleagues in SE Minnesota in Amish country? Is so, then this is the trip for you!
Participants will have an opportunity to learn about this karst landscape at the Eagle Bluff Learning Center and also take a trip inside one of Minnesota's finest large caves in Harmony, Minnesota -- the Niagara Cave! During the weekend we will also look at the agriculture in this part of the state by visiting an ethanol plant and a local farm.
Don't miss out! The biking trails in this part of the state are well known and the B&B's have flourished! After one visit, you will want to arrange to come back on your own for future exploration. More info will follow on bike rentals in Lanesboro; a stop at the Whalen pie shop is refreshing. Put this on your calendar for 10 AM Saturday, April 30, through noon on Sunday, May 1.
