Brainerd Lakes Region

Crow Wing Area Outlook

  • The Crow Wing area will see growth in commercial functions.  The improved 371 corridor  and Crow Wing's location on the South side of Brainerd (closer to the Twin Cities and Saint Cloud and before hitting traffic congestion) makes it a perfect site for commercial development.  The development of the new Brainerd Lakes Visitor center will augment this advantage.

  • Housing development in Crow Wing area will accelerate as potential commuters or cabin owners from the Twin Cities or St Cloud buy second homes in the area to  the traffic congestion and higher prices further north.  The Crow Wing State Park and the new Eagle View Golf course are added amenities (a new development is in fact being built next to Eagle Ridge).  However, the lack of large or interlocking lakes (or really very many lakes at all) and sparse vegetation east of 371 will limit residential development.
