An initial foray to the Limpopo River Valley of southern Zimbabwe yielded the remains of dinosaurs, as well as an Early Jurassic date for the rocks that contain their bones. As usual, our best discoveries were made in the last few days of the field season, and Zimbabwean politics have kept us from returning. My colleagues Ray Rogers (Macalester College) and Darlington Munyikwa (Mutare Museum, Zimbabwe) and I hope to head back to Zimbabwe in the summer of 2009.
